New energy vehicles accelerate "running"

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology and other ministries and commissions held an inter-ministerial joint meeting on energy conservation and the development of new energy automobile industry, and discussed in depth the work measures of implementing the Development Plan of New Energy Automobile Industry (2021-2035) (hereinafter referred to as the Plan), and defined the key tasks of the development of new energy automobile industry in 2021, requiring the coordination of the whole industry chain and "vehicle-road-network-cloud".

What is the current development status of new energy vehicles? What are the new trends of car companies and consumers in the year when the Plan was launched? The author conducted an interview.

"Smart" and "Environmental Protection" are favored.

Nowadays, new energy vehicles are accelerating into the lives of ordinary people and becoming a new fashion.

These days, Mr. Yu, who is engaged in education in Nanchang, Jiangxi, received his new car, Tesla Model Y. "I placed an order for this car six months ago, and I finally mentioned the car after waiting for so long! After driving for a week, I feel really different from traditional fuel vehicles. " Mr. Yu said that he had a seven-year-old fuel car before buying this new energy car, and it was time to change cars. The development of new energy vehicles is in full swing, and many new ideas and applications have attracted him.

"The initial idea was very simple, that is, I felt that new energy vehicles saved money. For example, a fuel car consumes about 0.4 yuan’s fuel cost per kilometer, while an electric car generally needs 15 kWh per 100 kilometers, which is about 8 yuan’s money, so it can save more than 30 yuan at once. The maintenance and repair costs of electric vehicles are also different from those of traditional fuel vehicles. In addition, using electricity as the energy source of automobiles is also very environmentally friendly and helps to reduce carbon emissions. " He said.

For Zhang Caiming, a citizen of Hangzhou, in addition to energy conservation and environmental protection, a high level of intelligence is a major reason for choosing a new energy vehicle. "New energy vehicles have OTA system upgrades. Unlike previous fuel vehicles, the functions of the vehicles are relatively simple. System upgrades have to go to 4S stores, and navigation upgrades have to be charged separately. In addition, the intelligent system of new energy vehicles is not as special as the battery of ordinary cars. " Zhang Caiming said that the government’s preferential policies have also made many people feel that new energy vehicles are more cost-effective.

According to the Plan, by 2025, the average power consumption of new cars for pure electric passenger cars will drop to 12.0 kWh/100 km, and the sales volume of new energy vehicles will reach about 20% of the total sales volume of new cars. Highly self-driving cars will be commercialized in limited areas and specific scenes, and the convenience of charging and replacing electricity services will be significantly improved. After 15 years of continuous efforts, pure electric vehicles will become the mainstream of newly sold vehicles, vehicles in public areas will be fully electrified, fuel cell vehicles will be commercialized, and highly self-driving vehicles will be applied on a large scale, effectively promoting energy conservation, water reduction and drainage and improving social operation efficiency.

Insiders pointed out that the Plan defined the future development goals and key tasks of the new energy automobile industry, and it was the first development plan in China’s industrial field for the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" and a longer period, which reflected the country’s great attention. New energy vehicles belong to a new track in the field of automobile industry, and their growth potential and imagination space are very rich. With the help of policy support and technical research, the development of new energy automobile industry has achieved remarkable results, but whether it can win the favor of more consumers still depends on the technical "gold content" of the products themselves.

The scientific and technological content is constantly improving.

Compared with traditional fuel vehicles, new energy vehicles still have some problems, such as cruising range, adaptation to low temperature conditions and layout of charging piles. These factors lead some consumers to take a wait-and-see attitude.

Zhang Siwen, who lives in Tianjin, said that although some friends around him have started to buy new energy vehicles, he does not intend to buy them at present. "I feel that new energy vehicles are not as practical as the fuel vehicles I am driving now in terms of battery life. On the one hand, the popularity of gas stations is still much higher than that of charging piles, and it takes a few minutes to refuel; On the other hand, the winter in the north is cold, the temperature outside the car is low, and the warm air is needed inside the car, so the battery state of new energy vehicles is easily affected. "

The year 2021 is the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and it is also the year when the Plan was launched. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has made it clear that in the field of new energy vehicles, it is necessary to co-ordinate the promotion of short-board and forged long-board, enhance the toughness and competitiveness of the industrial chain, strengthen quality and safety supervision, and effectively improve the safety level of new energy vehicles.

It is understood that major car companies are stepping up technical research and striving to improve the quality of new energy vehicles.

Mustang Mach-E launched by Ford Motor Company will focus on the high-end intelligent pure electric SUV market in China. The car is equipped with Ford Intelligent Vehicle Infrastructure Cooperative Systems based on cellular car networking (C-V2X) technology, and the domestic model will have a cruising range of more than 600 kilometers. "Ford’s global electrification strategy is very clear. From 2017 to 2022, Ford Motor Company will invest more than $11.5 billion to develop new energy vehicles. At the same time, we will carry out strategic cooperation with various partners on a global scale, promote development in the fields of autonomous driving technology, intelligent travel services and electric vehicles, and take the lead in electrifying star models. " Zhu Jiang, Chief Operating Officer of Ford China Electric Vehicle Division, said.

Geely Automobile has also actively deployed electrification and new energy technologies, covering the mainstream technical routes in related fields. It is understood that Geely has invested more than 30 billion yuan in R&D and industry in the field of new energy vehicles. After more than ten years of R&D experience, it has a complete powertrain development capability. In the field of new energy, Geely has more than 100 core patented technologies, including 48V, HEV, motor, electronic and electrical architecture, etc., and has realized the truly 100% independent research and development of China’s new energy technology system and solutions.

After the service is improved, I am full of energy.

Shi Jianhua, Deputy Secretary-General of China Automobile Industry Association, believes that whether it is government policy or market demand, the fundamental thing to promote the development of new energy automobile industry is to solve the "pain points" of consumers and better meet their needs.

"On the one hand, the future development of China’s new energy automobile industry will of course be driven by policies, but more importantly, it will rely on the power of the market to continuously promote the optimization of products, services and even the whole industry. For example, the continuous improvement of infrastructure such as charging piles will inevitably lead to the rapid development of new energy vehicles. The problem of consumers’ difficult charging and short battery life has been solved, and the sales of new energy vehicles will naturally be by going up one flight of stairs. " Shi Jianhua said.

Lian Qingfeng, a spokesperson for BAIC New Energy, said that due to the different core technologies, new energy vehicles are more energy-saving and environmentally friendly than traditional fuel vehicles, and the economic advantages for users are more obvious. At the same time, new energy vehicles have more obvious advantages in energy structure and cascade utilization. "At present, new energy vehicles can be divided into charging mode and changing mode. Compared with’ charging the battery’, directly replacing the battery is more efficient and faster, and it has become a new hot spot that has attracted much attention from the industry. BAIC New Energy, a subsidiary of BAIC Blue Valley, is one of the earliest car companies in China to develop and lay out the power exchange mode. By December 2020, Beiqi Blue Valley had built and put into operation 251 power exchange stations in 21 cities, and 22,000 power exchange vehicles had been put into operation, with a total of 7.75 million power exchanges completed and the total mileage of power exchange vehicles reached 1.12 billion kilometers. In the future, Beiqi Blue Valley will strive to develop flagship models compatible with the power exchange mode and build high-end intelligent power exchange stations and other supporting facilities to enrich the company’s product line and provide more energy supply solutions for the market. " Lian Qingfeng said.

Huang Libin, director of the Operation Monitoring Coordination Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that compared with fuel vehicles, electric vehicles have the advantages of energy saving and emission reduction, low use cost, convenient maintenance, good power and maneuverability, but the industry is still in the development stage, and there are still problems such as high vehicle cost and inconvenient charging. The degradation of low-temperature environmental performance is also one of the problems. This is a problem in the development of emerging industries, and it can only be solved by relying on a higher level of development. In the future, with the improvement of technical level and the improvement of management policies, the low-temperature performance of new energy vehicles will definitely be substantially improved. In 2021, relevant departments and localities will vigorously improve the infrastructure system, solve the problem of "difficulty in entering the community" of charging piles, improve the level of interconnection, and improve charging convenience and product reliability. In addition, it will increase the promotion and application, implement the action to promote the electrification of vehicles in the public sector, and introduce more preferential policies for the use of links to further stimulate private consumption.
