According to the assessment, after the completion of the project, the quality of cultivated land in the project area will generally be improved by one or two grades, the average grain production capacity will be increased by 10% to 20%, and the average grain output per mu will be increased by 100 kg.

Recently, the State Council issued the "Opinions on Effectively Strengthening the Construction of High-standard Farmland to Enhance the National Food Security Guarantee Capacity" (hereinafter referred to as the "Opinions"), proposing that by 2022, 1 billion mu of high-standard farmland will be built nationwide, so as to stably guarantee the grain production capacity of more than 1 trillion Jin; By 2035, through continuous transformation and upgrading, the amount of high-standard farmland in the country will be further improved. At the same time, it also attaches importance to clear quality objectives, and the Opinions put forward the overall requirements of soil quality and environmental standards.

On the 25th, the State Council Press Office held a routine briefing on the State Council policy. At the meeting, Yu Xinrong pointed out that the key to ensuring food security is to ensure food production capacity and ensure that it can be produced and supplied when needed. Building high-standard farmland can not only increase grain production capacity, but also enhance the disaster resistance of farmland. In the years of severe meteorological disasters, the stability level of grain production capacity in the project area is obviously higher than that in the non-project area.

Yu Xinrong emphasized that the construction of high-standard farmland is a key measure to ensure national food security. According to estimates, by 2022, 1 billion mu of high-standard farmland will be built in China, so that the grain production capacity can be stably guaranteed to be above 1 trillion Jin, accounting for about 80% of the total grain output in China, which will play a basic supporting role in ensuring national food security. The "Opinions" put forward policy requirements for further protecting and mobilizing the enthusiasm of grain production from the aspects of strengthening post-construction management and protection and strict management and utilization, and supported the high-standard farmland after completion to be concentrated for important agricultural products, especially grain production.
