Last year, the 14th Five-Year Plan for the High-quality Development of Manufacturing Industry in Guangdong Province was issued, and our city was marked as eight strategic industrial core cities, and the smart home appliance industry was one of them. Pengjiang District has also issued a specific action plan, taking "3+2" industrial clusters as the key cultivation and development direction, among which smart home appliances rank first. According to the action plan, Pengjiang District will strive to achieve the goal of an output value of 40 billion yuan by the end of the 14 th Five-Year Plan period.

Gain momentum
The mountains are high and the mountains are long. From the 1990s to the beginning of the 21st century, Guangdong set off a new wave of deepening reform, opening wider to the outside world and speeding up development. Many people of insight "started businesses in the sea" and entered the traditional household appliances industry. In the meantime, a number of lighting enterprises such as Jinlaite Electric Appliances, Minhua Electric Appliances and Xiaguang Lighting, as well as small household appliances enterprises such as Jinghui Electric Appliances, Nanguang Electric Appliances and Keye Electric Appliances have developed and expanded successively, and the categories of household appliances industry in Pengjiang District have become increasingly rich.
"We are both from Jiangxi. We worked in an electronics factory at first, and then we worked as emergency lights together!" More than 20 years ago, Ms. Huang, the general manager of Minhua Electric Appliances, and her husband decided to "go into the sea" together, starting from the initial small factory. After years of development and accumulation, this enterprise has already turned into an innovative national high-tech enterprise, and its output and sales of fire emergency lamps have been ranked first among similar enterprises in China for many years!
The "key son" of the development of smart home appliance industry in Pengjiang District fell in 2011. This year, with the active promotion of relevant leaders at the city and county levels, Hisense Group invested and settled in Jiangmen, and finally chose Pengjiang Industrial Park in Tangxia Town as its address.
This is a single industrial park production base with the largest area and the most complete categories of Hisense Group in China. Among them, Hisense Air Conditioning and Hisense Electronics are the leading enterprises in air conditioning and television respectively. After more than 10 years of settlement, Jiangmen Hisense’s output value has exceeded 15 billion yuan, becoming a well-deserved "chain owner" enterprise of smart home appliances in Pengjiang District, occupying a decisive position in the overall economic development of the city and the whole region.
On the one hand, leading enterprises drive strongly; On the other hand, up-and-coming rookies have sprung up. Since 2016, the structural reform of the supply side of the home appliance industry has entered a breakthrough stage, and intelligence has become a major trend in the development of the industry. A number of kitchen and bathroom smart small household appliances enterprises such as Lemi Electric and Metz Intelligent have emerged one after another and achieved rapid development in four or five years. Among them, the output of smart rice cookers of Lemi Electric has exceeded 3 million units from zero, and the annual output value has exceeded 200 million yuan.
At present, among the existing 72 smart home appliance enterprises in Pengjiang District, the total industrial output value of white household appliances, kitchen appliances, black household appliances, small household appliances, lighting appliances and other major fields all exceeds 1 billion yuan. In the process of gaining momentum, a sound industrial system with wide industrial coverage and high gross industrial output value has been initially formed.

At present, under the influence of the epidemic, the external environment is changeable, and Pengjiang household appliances enterprises, which are mainly exporting, have also faced many risk challenges in the past two years-

During the visit, many home appliance enterprises talked about their development difficulties in succession, including the common problems of the development of the times and the personality problems caused by their different business directions.

A series of national tax reduction and fee reduction policies to support small and medium-sized enterprises have helped a number of enterprises such as Jinghui Electric, Dexin Electric and Keye Electric to tide over the difficulties.
Huang Zhijian, the chairman of Jinghui Electric Appliances, calculated the account. With the support of the state, Jinghui Electric Appliances can get more than 100,000 yuan of social security fee relief every month, and it can save about 1.5 million yuan of employees’ social security fee in one year. Instead of laying off one person, with the support of the state policy, it improved the production automation and completed the order as scheduled, and its experience of "struggling to survive" was also listed on CCTV.
The person in charge of Keye Electric said that when the company moved to a new factory building built by itself in 2021, the value of finished products in stock exceeded 130 million yuan, and the capital turnover was under great pressure. To this end, the tax department of Pengjiang District accelerated the tax refund progress for Keye Electric Appliances, with a total export value of over 240 million yuan and an export tax refund of 7.6 million yuan, which helped enterprises to further seize the opportunities and expand the market.

Statistics show that the market size of smart home appliances in China has exceeded 550 billion yuan in 2021, and it is still developing rapidly. On the "high-speed train" of Pengjiang smart home appliance industry, 72 "passengers" (regulated enterprises) have taken advantage of the situation and created a total industrial output value of nearly 22 billion yuan.

Gathering potential
Home appliance manufacturing industry is a traditional and pillar industry in Guangdong, and Guangdong smart home appliance industry cluster is mainly concentrated in the core area of Pearl River Delta.
Jiangmen Pengjiang, also located in the core area of the Pearl River Delta, has entered a new stage of development after years of gaining momentum and taking the initiative, but it is still insufficient in terms of development space, supply chain and independent brands. Take Hisense Air Conditioning as an example. Among the upstream resource supporting enterprises, there are 124 in Guangdong Province, including 21 in Jiangmen and 42 in Foshan. Many small and medium-sized enterprises need to increase capital and expand production more urgently.
Next, how to "gather good momentum" and promote the collaborative innovation and development of innovation chain value chain of smart home appliance industry chain?
In order to thoroughly implement the "Park Reconstruction" project and fully promote the development of Pengjiang District, a large industrial cluster in Jiangmen, Pengjiang District plans to build a smart home appliance industrial park in Pengjiang District in the form of characteristic industrial parks and gardens in the park, with a total planned area of over 3.3 million square meters. It plans to introduce a number of high-quality smart home appliance enterprises and supporting enterprises, build a smart home appliance research base, support enterprises to become bigger and stronger, and strive to achieve the goal of output value of 40 billion yuan by the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan".
At present, Pengjiang District is speeding up the construction of various infrastructures. The road network construction is expected to be completed in the second half of this year, and the investment promotion in the park is also in progress. The Dexin Smart Home Appliances Industry Base Project, Qingdao Hengtai Capital Increase and Expansion Project, Lifeng Motor Co., Ltd. Capital Increase and Expansion Project have been introduced. Local home appliance companies such as Lemi Electric, Yuchangwei and Metz Smart are actively applying for relevant materials.
